Barb Skivington

Barb is a master Chalk Paint® artisan, internationally renowned instructor, Painter in Residence at Total Bliss in Greensboro, North Carolina, and founder and creative director of Real Girls CreateTM. Formerly the director of education and technical support for Annie Sloan products in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, Barb’s years of experience and experimentation have proven invaluable in guiding professional painters and DIY enthusiasts in the everyday uses for the various Annie Sloan products.

Barb has spent much of her life pursuing her passion for artistic creations that revolve around home decor, including a wide spectrum of faux and decorative finishes for walls, furniture, and cabinetry. Her brushes and trowels have taken her to locations throughout North America as well as Europe, Northern Africa, and Australasia. Barb’s work has appeared in several books and magazines, including Decorative Finishes Inspired by the South of France, Better Homes and Gardens Decorative Paint Techniques, Renovation Style, Paint Décor, and Southern Living.

Barb strives to offer her students a unique training experience in an environment where students feel relaxed and encouraged to express their creative side.
